Run by the Ecole Normale Supérieure within PSL University and co-accredited by the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, our master's degree offers an interdisciplinary education in cognitive science, and is open to all students, whether they have previously studied in the sciences or the humanities.
The Master's program is organized in four semesters. The first semester is a pluri-disciplinary core curriculum that introduces students to the foundations of cognitive science, and gives them time to choose their areas of specialization later in their curriculum.
In the second semester, students complete an internship and choose advanced specialization courses that make them experts in one or more areas of cognitive science:
The third semester introduces students to current research topics in cognitive science. Finally, in the fourth semester, students complete a long-term research internship in a laboratory or in the non-academic sector, culminating in the writing of a thesis and an oral presentation of their work.
In addition to their main master’s degree, our students also have the opportunity to validate a minor at PSL University, in a field of their choice from among the following:
Upon graduation, students go on to pursue doctoral studies at academic institutions in France and around the world, or to pursue professional careers in government or the private sector in applied cognitive science.
All courses and exams are conducted in English (but no official English test is required to apply).
