First-year (M1) internships require a workload of 1,5 days per week throughout the second semester. They can be supervised by researchers, post-docs, or PhD students within academia, as well as by professionals outside academia (in an administration, or the private sector). They must take place in the Paris region to allow students to attend classes concurrently.

Second-year (M2) internships require a full-time workload for the second semester (approximately 4.5 months) and 1 day per week during the first semester for the preparation of the main internship. They can be supervised by researchers or post-docs within academia and can optionally be co-supervised by a PhD student, or by professionals outside academia, provided that at least one co-supervisor is affiliated with an academic institution. Geographically, second-year internships can take place anywhere in the world.
